It gives me great pleasure to introduce the August 2004"Artist of the Month" at Infinitee Designs. Congratulations and many thanks go out to Mark Hirst for his exquisite science fiction art style and masterful execution with Poser and Bryce 3D.

Mark Hirst's Bio I have been interested in science fiction from an early age. As a student, I would produce ink drawing to illustrate the various starships and vehiclesthat inhabited the "Traveller" role-playing games I created. Although I liked art at school, I have no formal artistic training. Subsequently, most of the pictures were more functional than artistic.
In late 1998, I had just finished playing "Riven, The Sequel to Myst" and became very interested in how this fantastic game was created. At that time, PC Format carried a cover disk with a free and fully functional version of Bryce 2. Combined with an equally free and functional Truespace 1, I began to experiment with 3D.
I've subsequently upgraded to a full version of Bryce 5 and use Poser 4 and the excellent DAZ3D models to create people. The complex technological "hero" models are constructed in Truespace 3.2.
My main influences are Jim Burns and Fred Gambino.
I live and work in Hampshire, England.
