It is my pleasure to introduce Stephanie Shimerdla as the March 2007 "Artist of the Month" at Infinitee Designs. Congratulations and many thanks go out to Stephanie Shimerdla for her exceptional painting ability. Stephanie's artwork is not only outstanding for is technical aspects but, has an emotion that is hidden and subtle.

 Stephanie Shimerdla's Bio   Until a few years ago, artwork had only been a part of my life as a child. I used to love to draw fantasy creatures and scenes, but after finishing high school, I just stopped. While I would have loved to have taken art classes in college, I didn't feel that I was good enough. So, art just dropped out of my life.

In January of 2004, my husband was assigned his next duty station in South Korea (he's an army aviator - he flies chinooks) and I followed him over there. It was during that time that my interest in artwork was reborn. I didn't have a whole lot else to do, and I found that it helped me express so many of the feelings that I was experiencing in this foreign country where I simply didn't feel at home.

Since then, I have created a range of paintings that I just can't seem to narrow down - from fantasy to animals to emotive to aviation paintings. There is one thing for sure, though -- this time, art and design are back in my life to stay!
